Greetings and Salutations

Hey! My name is Alex and I am a game developer. I have been playing games of all sorts, all my life. From my early years in hide & seek and dodgeball until today, I have always tried to face and treat life as a game. Be it maximizing a stat like cooking, learning a new specialization, fooling around in cities, or embarking on new adventures where the unknown is my destination, and the journey is my ally.

Creating video games, be it in large or small teams, or even solo, can sometimes be daunting. And this is where this blog comes in. What I hope to accomplish is to share. Share my experiences from the industry, share my progress on ongoing projects, share code that I find interesting and intriguing, or just talk about an experience or a game that got me hooked. Hopefully get to connect with other developers, programmers, and gamers and share knowledge and interests so that we can elevate each other’s skills.

A little about me. I’m from a relatively small island in Greece called Corfu. This is where I spent most of my childhood and where some of my most fond memories were captured. The majority of my day was spent with me and my friends scheming new ways to play a game or just come up with random rules and create one of our own. High school is where I first was introduced to programming and it started to become clear to me, that this might be the path I would eventually follow. To no one’s surprise here I am today. Two months away from graduation and actively working at 5iveGames. A hyper-casual studio located in Greece.

I set out with the goal to make this blog evolve as it goes. I will share things I am passionate about, and hopefully, as discussion emerges, we will move in a clearer direction together.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and since this is my first post, I would like to welcome you!

  1. Hi Alex. Thank you for helping me develop the video game Azure Commando for the college. The game would not exist without your precious coding skills.
